Watch Chris Powell’s Video Blog - Feeling Under the Weather and Working Out?
Check out Chris Powell’s new video blog on what to do when you are a little under the weather. The rule of thumb is, if you are feeling ill from the neck down, do not work out. If you are feeling ill from the neck up but still have energy, you may still workout. If your throat hurts and you do not have a lot of energy, then you probably shouldn’t overexert yourself.
When you’re sick, your immune system is weakened, making your muscles and all other systems require more energy to repair itself. If you are feeling weak and tired, achy and otherwise ill, it’s because the other areas of your body are utilizing the energy you would have to try to heal itself. Overexerting yourself during a workout when you’re feeling achy like that will not help you, it may make you feel worse.
Take Chris Powell’s advice and watch his video on whether to work or not if you’re feeling ill.
