Congratulations to both of you for your hard work and dedication!! I was blown away at David’s transformation. It just proves obese people can lose weight the natural way by eating right and exercising. Thanks so much for sharing this awesome story with the world. Not only does David have his whole life ahead of him but he shares it with you Chris—his best friend! And best wishes on paying it forward! You both are such an inspiration. . .I will continue to follow your progress.

Watching your Sunday launch video and you talking about it being Sunday a high carb video then you going on about it being a no accelerator day.. is there anywhere you guys journal or anything about your specific meals? I just want to do this right.. I’m fixing to go check out the Stax website.. maybe I’ll find more info there.. Hope to hear from ya’ll soon.

Hi David and Chris,
Last night I watched you guys on TLC. Let me say that after watching David story last night really inspired me. David I know what it like not having a love life when your over wieght. You final proved to yourself that you can do it, because you want to. I would love to hear more about your story David.Posted by Ashley from Huntington Beach, Ca on 07/13 at 03:50 PM -
My husband and I watched you all on TLC and were totally amazed! Awesome job on the weight loss David and great job on Chris being there for David. One thing that I don’t think was touched on was what kind of health problems and medicine David was on when he was over 600 lbs. Like was he diabetic? Have high blood pressure? Or did he even go to a doctor? Would love to hear more on that end of the spectrum.
I know weight and health problems go hand in hand. My husband is also overweight and was inspired to just take a walk this morning.

I happened to stumble across your TLC show last night and I was riveted. David, you are such an inspiration to the rest of us. Chris, I wish I could borrow the real you - but joining “Reshape the Nation” will have to do. I hope you address the emotional reasons we turn to food. David, you had me in tears when you talked about what happened to you when you were 6. I have a 6 year old boy, and my heart just broke for you! I had my trigger, too. Every pound I lost in the past I regained and then some because my emotional issues were never addressed. You two are awesome and I can’t wait to get started!!

David you are wonderful and courageous man. TLC’s editing was hysterical. I can’t wait until Reshape the Nation begins! I am ready to let go of the past.

Thank you for the show, it really re-motivated me to keep going. I was topping out at over 400lbs and through a lot of work and patience I am now down to 290, I then developed gout in my foot which caused me to basically not be able to work out for almost a month. I was quickly on my way to wanting to do anything watching the TLC made me re-focused on what life can be. Not only am I loving the show I am ready fro RE-Shape the Nation and if I can get the money trying the Stax system.

So incredibly inspired. I need to lose a little, oh 20-30 pounds. Even only being slightly overweight (medically obese), I have many of the same tendencies. Lots of coffee, then lots of food late in the day, regular guilt, etc. I had just read your story and was telling my family about it. Then you were on TV!!! Beautiful story. Every single person needs someone. Someone to believe in them. To inspire them. And that is what I love about what you are going to do. Pay it forward. I hope you realize how big this is going to be. And I am happy to be on the forefront with you guys now. You will reap what you sow, and it’s going to be amazing.

Hello Chris and David. I just watched your show on TLC. The two of you together are Amazing! Paying it forward is such a wonderful gift! It will help so many, starting with me! I went to your blog page and started reading. The latest blog about the pottery wheel made so much scense! I understand it. I’m not overwhelmed or fustrated, it’s a simple concept and I get it! Thank You for the push in the right direction. I wish that all the good you are doing for others continues to come right back to the both of you! Enjoy your happiness you deserve it!!! : ) Thanks again Renee

You both are an inspiration and it is fantastic that David was able to lose the weight without surgery. I think it is great that you want to “pay it forward” - but charging $34.95/month to belong to your site is not really doing that in the true sense.

I just wanted to comment on the show, I was so amazed Dave w/all of your hard work & dedication, I wish you all the best and I am sure in GODS time you will find the right person for you. I am still so happy for you. I am 5’4 only 125lbs and I thought you were sexy and will pray for you & much happiness to come your way. Keep up all your hard work.

Saw the TLC program earlier this week and am still talking to everybody I know about it! You two are a great inspiration on a lot of levels, so thanks for walking the walk and just not talking the talk. Chris, if there were more GENUINE trainers like yourself, gym memberships wouldn’t be wasted on January 3rd each year. David, if we all tapped just 1/10th of the strenght you displayed, we’d be 10lbs lighter already. Guys, stay focused, stay grounded, and keep moving forward. You’re changing more lives than you know (and not just in physical transformation.) Thanks for reshaping our nation, one person at a time.

David, I cried while I was watching your story unfold on the television screen. We share a similar childhood and your honesty is truly inspiring.
Chris, you’re amazing!

David - Your story really touched me. Watching you enjoy the life you’ve created from yourself, and seeing how far you’ve come really touched me. I can relate to your pain, and seeing your progress and triumph is an inspiration. Thank you for being brave enough to share your story - it meant more to me than I thought it would sitting down to watch TV tonight. You’re a very special man and who ever you end up with is a very lucky girl

David, I am watching your dating TLC program and I was really moved at how well you have done.
When you talked about not having any dreams at the time that you were at your heaviest. I could see the pain that you experienced just watching yourself in your first films.
Your story talks to me because I have always felt with my weight but I was married about 4 years ago and just 17 days after I was in a car reek, even though I did walk away from it, it left me with allot of back pain and it messed allot of my internal organs, I got up to 316 and for the last year I have been fighting to stay under 290. When I first started to gain I had just lost 60lbs by myself with exercise . however the doctors miss diagnosed my hormone issues for depression. I did not fight it at the time because of the pain and the timing in my life I just kept taking the meds but I just kept getting bigger. At one point because of the marital issues that it all caused I started to stress eat. Even though I know that I have not gotten a bad off as you once did, as a women it is devastating. The doctors are now saying that I can not have children until I get down to at least 175 I have tried as much as I can I am getting to the point that I feel like I just have no hope. I feel like no one wants to really stop and help me I feel like people just want to scam me out of money that I don’t have.
I hope that I can learn more about how you over came this major hurdle in your life and learn how to overcome my own.Posted by Rebecca from AL on 07/15 at 09:18 PM -
Hi Chris & David,
Amazing how each man’s life touches another, and another, creating a chain reaction.
On the TLC show, you were both viewing the beginning of David’s transformation. Something struck me when David said he couldn’t believe that he was that same man in the video. That the “old” David had no ambition, desires, goals, etc.
The David that stands before us today would be no where without the courage, hope, and desire the “old” David used to take the hardest step in changing his life. The first step. That same inner voice that gave David the courage to take the first step, is the same inner voice that will guide him through the rest of his life. Spiritual growth comes from experiencing something AND applying the lesson learned to decisions we make later in life.
David’s extreme weight will mark his lowest point in his life. But more important than that, it will also mark a major turning point in his life. Spiritually, mentally, and physically.
I’m onboard for the reshape the nation. If I don’t make changes soon, I may not be alive to make them later. David’s story is inspirational. What’s given me the courage to make changes was seeing how Chris believed in David, and didn’t even know him. His determination to see David live a better life was unwaivering. I need that in my life.
Can’t wait to see where this might take me.
